Tips For Making a Winter Survival Kit for Your Car

During the ice, snow and extreme temperatures that accompany winter weather, all of us at Hixson Lincoln want our customers to be as safe as possible when on the roads. That's why we encourage everyone to take a few minutes and invest a few dollars ahead of time to construct a winter survival kit to keep your car in the event of an emergency.

Here are just a few of the items to include in a winter survival kit: blankets, a heavy jacket with a warm hat and gloves, a bag of cat litter or sand to provide traction, a windshield ice scraper, boots, snow shovel, nonperishable snacks and drinking water, a cell phone charger, a first aid kit, flashlight and batteries, jumper cables, roadside flares or reflective roadside triangles, duct tape, fire extinguisher, and clean rags.

Being prepared with a winter survival kit helps lessen roadside emergencies.
